Viet Nam’s cashew sector targets exports of 350,000 tonnes this year, 10 per cent lower than last year, according to the Viet Nam Cashew Association (Vinacas).
The Vietnamese cashew sector is calling for an US$800 million credit package from commercial banks to better serve its exports, as heard at a seminar held in HCM City late last week.
Enterprises in the food industry should focus more on improving
production technologies to products with added value, delegates
said at a conference in HCM City yesterday.
The turnover for the cashew sector is likely to be US$2.2 billion this
year from exporting 180,000 tonnes of cashew nuts, shipments of nut
shell oil and other processed products.
